The current "SCOUT VINTAGE" started in November 1999 in a corner of the original furniture and miscellaneous goods shop "ANTRY", where we started selling antique chairs and vintage goods purchased in the United States. Many people have sympathized with the charm of antiques and vintage items, which become more attractive the longer they are used.

At the time, we packed the purchased items into cardboard boxes and imported them as hand luggage, but we had a strong desire to display larger antique and vintage items in our store, so about 10 years ago we started importing directly from the UK and the US in containers. Nowadays, ERCOL and G-PLAN furniture, and HORNSEA and DENBY tableware are popular, but back then, they were still only known to a few core enthusiasts. Japanese buyers were still rare locally, and the language barrier made it difficult to communicate our thoughts, and sometimes we even failed. To this day, we continue to insist on direct purchases by our buyers, and import by container several times a year.

We carefully maintain our vintage furniture in our own factory. We take the time and effort to dismantle and reassemble each piece as necessary, stripping the paint and re-staining or re-coating it, depending on its condition.

Antiques and vintage items have been passed down from person to person for a long time and have crossed the ocean. We deliver products that you can treasure and use for a long time to come, while appreciating their individuality such as changes over time and their flavor.
